2017 Gazebo Concert Series
The Village of Fredonia is proud to present the 2017 Gazebo Concert Series. All concerts are free of charge and will take place on Wednesday Evenings throughout the summer from 6:30-8:30 PM. Spectators are reminded to bring a lawn chair for added comfort.

Seasonal reminders from the Code Enforcement Office.
The Code Enforcement Office would like to remind village residents and business owners of the below policies:
- Any swimming pool capable of holding more than 24” of water requires a building permit. (This includes all portable pools and blue inflatable pools)
- All property owners are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of any sidewalk adjoining their properties. Sidewalks must be kept in good repair and safe condition for public use. Property owners may be eligible for a partial reimbursement from the Village for any repairs.

Village of Fredonia Local Code-Charter-Article V, section 1.
- All Buildings must have address numbers affixed to the building to be plainly visible and legible from the street.
New York State Property Maintenance Code Section 304.3 and New York State Fire Code Section 505
- Property owners shall keep yards and properties properly maintained. Grass and weeds shall not be in excess of 6 inches.

Brush Pickup To Begin Monday 6/5
The Village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste Monday, June 5, 2017 through Thursday June 8, 2017. Collection will begin at 7am and continue until every Village street within the scheduled section has been completed. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7am of the scheduled morning. In no case will there be repeat collection of areas completed.
All yard waste must be bagged and all limbs and brush must be tied with twine. Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than 4 feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight. There is no collection of loose material.

The cooperation of residents is greatly appreciated.
Pickleball Coming to RJP
As you may have seen in recent news reports, Fredonia will begin to have the ability to host Pickleball players for the first time this summer. Weather permitting, we will be painting additional lines on the tennis and basketball courts on Monday May 22nd. Please be aware that those courts will be unavailable for most of the day. In the weeks that follow, court lines will also be added to the other Village basketball courts at the Lambert Ave. and Gardner St. Playgrounds. Village Options Regarding The North County Water District
During the meeting held at Village Hall on Monday, February 6th, a presentation was given outlining the cost differences between joining the NCWD, or remaining independent and continuing to provide water for Village residents. Russell Joy Park Pavilion Reservations
The Fredonia-Pomfret Recreation Department will begin accepting Russell Joy Park pavilion rental applications for the summer 2017 season beginning on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2017at 8:30 A.M. at the Recreation Department office on the second floor of Fredonia Village Hall. Applications will only be accepted from Fredonia or Pomfret residents through the month of January. Residents from neighboring communities will be able to submit rental applications beginning in February. Russell Joy Park has three pavilions available for public rental from May 1st through October 31st.

Statement Regarding Shared Police Facility
During the May 23rd village board meeting, Mayor Landis provided a presentation which analyzed the costs and benefits of a shared police station with the City of Dunkirk. After careful consideration, the Mayor and the Board of Trustees, have decided not to pursue a joint facility at this time. Mayor Landis’ full statement can be read by downloading the file below

Periodically, and due to a variety of factors, the Village of Fredonia has a need to hire additional personnel. When a specific need arises, there will be an announcement here on our website.
