DEFENSE AND INDEMNIFICATION OF
OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES

~ 18-1. Responsibilities of village; statutory authority.
The Village of Fredonia shall defend, indemnify and save harmless its employees and officers as provided by ~ 18 of the Public Officers Law of the State of New York.
~ 18-2. Definitions.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
EMPLOYEE — Includes all officers and employees of the Village of Fredonia and any others person within the definition of “employee” as defined in ~ 18 of the Public Officers Law of the State of New York.
~ 18-3. Conferral of benefits; liability for costs.
The Village of Fredonia hereby confers the benefits of ~ 18 of the Public Officers Law upon its officers and employees and further agrees to be held liable for the costs incurred as provided by ~ 18 of the Public Officers Law of the State of New York.
